From the Neurospace website:
Hydrotherapy or aqautic physiotherapy is a great way to meet your rehabiltation or exercise goals
Hydrotherapy pools are heated to approximately 34 degrees, and have a variable depth from 1m to 1.6m. The warm water provides a relaxing, supportive medium for pain-free movement and treatment. This helps to increase joint and muscle flexibility, strength, co-ordination, and endurance, all resulting in better movement control and abilities. In the water, we can exploit the different properties of water such as flotation, turbulence, bouyancy and drag to make you work to your full potential.
Exercise in the water assists people with:
- Strokes, head injuries, spinal cord injuries
- Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions
- Post fall recovery and balance retraining to prevent further falls
- Chronic pain
- Joint replacements and reconstructions
- Spinal surgery
