From the Parks Victoria website: Patterson River is a unique man made waterway, created in 1876 to provide drainage from the Dandenong Valley catchment. Since then is has become one of the most popular boating and fishing gateways to Port Phillip. The thriving canal system of the Patterson Lakes residential area and the wet and dry storage at the marina contribute to making this an extremely busy waterway.
From the Parks Victoria website: Parks Victoria has installed an electric hoist to assist wheelchair users safely in and out of boats at Patterson River. The hoist is free to use and will be available to approved users from the 22 October 2018. Users must complete an induction session to learn how to safely operate the hoist. The hoist is located at the Patterson River Boat Ramps at Launching Way, Patterson Lakes. Sessions are free, please register interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org"
